Where I've Been
"I wandered everywhere, through cities and countries wide. And everywhere I went, the world was on my side." -Roman Payne
I love nothing more than to get away. In fact, I love the planning process almost as much as I love the experience itself. I've learned about the art of balsamic vinegar production in Italy, enjoyed a thermal bath during a rainstorm in Hungary, and paraglided off a cliff in New Zealand - to name a few. When I share photos or memories of my trips, I'm often told, "You should have a TV show!" I do think being open to experiences is key in having a wonderful journey, but it also comes down to great planning. And that is where I'd like to help you! But don't just take my word for it, check it out for yourself:
STAY
Here, some of the unique places I've rested my head...
Rustic Sheepherder's Wagon
Cody, Wyoming
The feeling of being at one with nature, without having to pitch a tent! In addition to a cozy stay and glimpse into life in the old west, this Airbnb find boasted a couple cats, dogs, and even a horse (George) to keep me company.
Literary-Themed B&B
Newport, Oregon
There are no phones, TVs, or (gasp) even WiFi in this 21-room bed & breakfast which features such authors as Agatha Christie (pictured here), Shakespeare, J.K. Rowling, Dr. Seuss, Mark Twain, and many more. As their website boasts, "Unplug, unwind, and sleep with your favorite author."
Modern Comfort with Old-World Charm
San Sebastian, Spain
This Airbnb blew my socks off! In addition to the exposed stone wall and gorgeous bathroom complete with chevron tile, there was a tiny little patio overlooking one of the oldest churches in the city (built in the 16th century). I *almost* didn't want to leave the room.
